I get it in my fingers when I use my hands a lot for certain things. I've found using the over the counter roll on 5% lidocaine helps a lot, better than Voltaren.
Must be nice to eat ice cream as fast as you want and not have to worry about brain freeze.

My doc started me on Allopurinol years ago because she said my arthritis in my hands was "Gouty Arthritis" (Calcium pyrophosphate arthritis) X 2 I have taken this drug for about ten years for gout & it has helped but not eliminated the gout in my hands. Make sure you are screened for liver & kidney function issues as this can be a serious side effect with this medication. w

I take Allopurinol for gout in my elbow but it has done nothing for the arthritis in my hands. I know how to set 330's with technique but use setters now. I'm in the grin and bear it club with the arthritis. I already have the doctor wanting to ram too many pills down my throat as it is. Carrying setters is a lot less painful than using my hands.
What are some natural ways, like foods and herbs, to relieve arthritis?

Dexterity is poor for picking up the smaller things like a drill bit on a table, catching a fly forget about it. I had trigger finger but worked that out by rubbing the knot and keeping my hand open more while sleeping, a stress ball also helped work it out. The finger is straight but won’t over extend upward like the rest will.
Knuckles feel like they need to pop to relieve the pressure but seldom pop. Sometimes if I squeeze a pair of pliers hard enough they pop man that gets your attention when they do pop.

So far only in the two middle fingers of my right hand. I do have it in my right hip and some in the back. It doesn't help that I'm allergic to NSAIDS.
ergo, bibamus.

I'm not sure about arthritis, but my knuckles have gotten knobbier.....the kind of knobbiness you dont want to see on your proctologist...just makes it harder to close a fist....

Diet pop with aspartame can have a huge impact in your joints if you drink too much of it. Years ago I drank a lot of Diet Coke and noticed my knees would go numb at night and hurt often they felt gritty and my back did not want to bend at the waist I thought I was wheelchair bound at a early age.
Stopped drinking diet pop and it went away and I felt a lot more mobile.

It impacts your micro skills and griping ability the most I always say I should just knock it on the floor and then pick it up the way I drop things lately. It has no impact on handling a firearm thank God!

Mine started around September. I could barely get dressed for church yesterday I hurt so bad after chores. I’ve tried explaining to the doctors that it’s not old age and over work. My job is 95% manual labor but if all farmers felt like this we would all starve to death. They keep saying my joints are just worn out but I’m not buying it. I’m starting a diet today that combats leaky gut. I let you guys know in 30 days if it helps.

What are some natural ways, like foods and herbs, to relieve arthritis? I got to know a cabinet maker while I was working at the local lumberyard many years ago. He was in his late 30s or early 40s and had really bad arthritus that was darn near crippling. After many doctors and different medicines, he was finally told about cherries. Apparently they are anti-inflammatory when taken each day. He ate at least 5 oz of cherries every day....did not matter what type of cherry or what it was in. It could be sweet cherries, tart cherries, eaten plain or eaten in a pie. It didnt matter as long as he ate 5 oz everyday and he absolutely swore by it.

What kind of arthritis is it.
My rheumatologist prescribed hydroxychloroquine, after just a few days the pain in my hand started to go away. Within about six months my finger joints that had been swollen for a few years returned to normal, no pain in my wrists, etc.. It is a wonder drug imo. Very cheap too. She prescribed 400mg a day, but I have only been taking 200mg per day since the beginning, and I often miss a day or two.
It was the second choice, the first drug she tried didn't work, and would have potentially had bad side effects. I don't think they like to prescribe hydroxychloroquine because it works too good and is cheap. I haven't seen the Dr. since the day she prescribed it.
