I get it in my fingers when I use my hands a lot for certain things. I've found using the over the counter roll on 5% lidocaine helps a lot, better than Voltaren.

My doc started me on Allopurinol years ago because she said my arthritis in my hands was "Gouty Arthritis" (Calcium pyrophosphate arthritis) X 2 I have taken this drug for about ten years for gout & it has helped but not eliminated the gout in my hands. Make sure you are screened for liver & kidney function issues as this can be a serious side effect with this medication. w

I take Allopurinol for gout in my elbow but it has done nothing for the arthritis in my hands. I know how to set 330's with technique but use setters now. I'm in the grin and bear it club with the arthritis. I already have the doctor wanting to ram too many pills down my throat as it is. Carrying setters is a lot less painful than using my hands.
What are some natural ways, like foods and herbs, to relieve arthritis?

Dexterity is poor for picking up the smaller things like a drill bit on a table, catching a fly forget about it. I had trigger finger but worked that out by rubbing the knot and keeping my hand open more while sleeping, a stress ball also helped work it out. The finger is straight but won’t over extend upward like the rest will.
Knuckles feel like they need to pop to relieve the pressure but seldom pop. Sometimes if I squeeze a pair of pliers hard enough they pop man that gets your attention when they do pop.

So far only in the two middle fingers of my right hand. I do have it in my right hip and some in the back. It doesn't help that I'm allergic to NSAIDS.

I'm not sure about arthritis, but my knuckles have gotten knobbier.....the kind of knobbiness you dont want to see on your proctologist...just makes it harder to close a fist....

Diet pop with aspartame can have a huge impact in your joints if you drink too much of it. Years ago I drank a lot of Diet Coke and noticed my knees would go numb at night and hurt often they felt gritty and my back did not want to bend at the waist I thought I was wheelchair bound at a early age.
Stopped drinking diet pop and it went away and I felt a lot more mobile.

It impacts your micro skills and griping ability the most I always say I should just knock it on the floor and then pick it up the way I drop things lately. It has no impact on handling a firearm thank God!

Mine started around September. I could barely get dressed for church yesterday I hurt so bad after chores. I’ve tried explaining to the doctors that it’s not old age and over work. My job is 95% manual labor but if all farmers felt like this we would all starve to death. They keep saying my joints are just worn out but I’m not buying it. I’m starting a diet today that combats leaky gut. I let you guys know in 30 days if it helps.

What are some natural ways, like foods and herbs, to relieve arthritis? I got to know a cabinet maker while I was working at the local lumberyard many years ago. He was in his late 30s or early 40s and had really bad arthritus that was darn near crippling. After many doctors and different medicines, he was finally told about cherries. Apparently they are anti-inflammatory when taken each day. He ate at least 5 oz of cherries every day....did not matter what type of cherry or what it was in. It could be sweet cherries, tart cherries, eaten plain or eaten in a pie. It didnt matter as long as he ate 5 oz everyday and he absolutely swore by it.

What kind of arthritis is it.
My rheumatologist prescribed hydroxychloroquine, after just a few days the pain in my hand started to go away. Within about six months my finger joints that had been swollen for a few years returned to normal, no pain in my wrists, etc.. It is a wonder drug imo. Very cheap too. She prescribed 400mg a day, but I have only been taking 200mg per day since the beginning, and I often miss a day or two.
It was the second choice, the first drug she tried didn't work, and would have potentially had bad side effects. I don't think they like to prescribe hydroxychloroquine because it works too good and is cheap. I haven't seen the Dr. since the day she prescribed it.

Before you take any medicine take D3, K2, and magnesium.
I took 5000 iu of D3, 200mcg of K2 and 600 mg of Magnesium Citrate daily.
I couldn't walk because of hip pain and after 2 weeks pain gone.

MSM, vet suggested it for my old dog. I started using it the glucosamine. It does not stop the arthritis but sure stops the aches it used to give me.

Just turned 70 this month - worked/ and played with my hands all my life. Had mild stiffness and pain last few years in my hands - but nothing bad. Did have a hip replacement 2 years ago so I was aware of joint problems. Had a flare up 8 weeks ago - hands swollen so much couldn't make a fist - wrist so weak couldn't take any pressure and my thumbs were complete useless. Went to the doctor and had multiple blood test done - ended up with going on Prednisone to control the swelling with good results - started at 40 mg a day tapered to 30 - then 20, then 10 and down to 5 mg. Got to last 4 days of 5 mg and the swelling started coming back so doctor wanted to do a straight 20 mg a day till I can get to the specialist. Haven't seen anyone on the forum here taking Prednisone? Is there anyone taking this? It's a nasty drug and only treats the effects and not the cause. I want to get off it as soon as possible before it does more harm than good. Specialist booked solid with appointments so I'm waiting. Anyone care to share their experience with prednisone?

Turmeric and Cinnamon are both anti-inflammatory. I add it to my Coffee daily .

My blood work isn't the best. Doc wanted me to drop to one arthritis pill a day instead of 2.
Real thc gummies are amazing.

My hands are feeling great today. I worked bees yesterday. I posted this before, my grandfather would have me get bees in a jar and let them sting him in the hands/fingers. Worked for him.

What is your pill doing to your blood to alarm the Dr? What kind of drug are you taking? Never have tried the THC gummies. What do they relieve? Pain I would say is what the THC gummies help with. You can give it to young children and they hit their heads and laugh instead of cry. Yup, Turn them into DOPES at an early age. Doped up kids must be easier to baby sit.

My rheumatologist claims I have rheumatoid arthritis , prescribed Methotrexate which didn't help and gave me some bad side affects, I asked about Hydroxychloroquine but he claimed it wasn't strong enough, wanted to put me on one of the new infusion drugs, major side effect is cancer ! Haven't been back since.... Even if the hydroxy wasn't perfect it might have relieved some of the arthritis which would be better then cancer... I'd suggest that you might want to find another Dr., Try the hydroxychloroquine, it's cheap. That's probably why they don't want to let you try it, plus, if it works, they won't be seeing much of you in the future, which means less invoices to your insurance provider.
