I caught a feral cat in my Comstock today that was covering a groundhog hole. He must have been in there awhile because of the hair and smell on the cage. How would this effect this cage and set? I believe cats are natural enemies of groundhogs. I swapped out traps and plan to wash it really good. Thanks to the intelligence base.

If you’re posi setting on a hole it won’t be a problem. Just leave the trap in the weather for a bit and the smell will go away. UV sterilizes everything.

I used to worry about smells on my traps, then I realized that these animals live around humans, cats, dogs, etc. it’s not a new smell to them. Wilderness trapping is a completely different thing.
