I wonder if any of my 3 season holdovers sold and I can collect a $5.01 check. Hope springs enteral wink

P.S. On other Canadian fur auction house news, as anyone gotten paid anything during NAFA's bankruptcy proceedings? I'm not holding my breath nor have a lot outstanding but they did sell my fur, used the proceeds to keep their company going for a bit longer, and bounced a check on me. I had a landlord in college that went to the pen for selling something he didn't own but he had a lot less connections than NAFA's top guys. I wonder how many Canadian politicians palms the NAFA brass greased over the years? I'm sure a few...

Marten did sell really well, so did Fisher, Reds were a dud like rats, coons have a spark of life, otter are moving up, not as fast as sables. The Zoo was nuts, but we expected that. I was told on Friday that hardly anyone was looking at Reds or Coyotes. I think with the exception of Reds and Coyotes the market has now bounced off the bottom and is hopefully on the way back up. Don't get wrapped around the axel about beaver, the country was to high all year on this article.

Underwhelming, & definitely not worth the wait.

Should have sold to Groeny !!! laugh

I hope FHA has a good sprinkler system in case your greasy old rats spontaneously combust like a pile of old oily rags, lol.

What cost is added on top for buyers to move the goods they bought to where they live ? Buyers premium, packing, duty, shipping what else? What do you think the average percentage per pelt cost is ?

Congrats Boco!

Your fur quality & handling is very good and it's a super feeling when that hard, quality work pays off.

Hope the lynx do as well.

Ever been to a Restaurant and never seen a price opposite to the Menu.

Wissmiss has explained these fees before, and it is not cheap and she has to get up early for the Zoo sale tomorrow

What would be the reason 451 beavers did not sell?

Limits put on those lots by the dealer (s) that own those pelts.

FHA is upfront with their fees. The buyers know it before they buy and the sellers know before they sell.
Their menu is called the conditions of sale.
The carpetbaggers on the other hand do not disclose their "fees".Shady to say the least.

Not sure FH is 100% upfront about their fees. Most shippers do not know that buyers pay fees also. Some times very high fees.

A buyer pays 30 cents for a damaged red fox. The handling fee is $3.00. That is 10 times what he paid for the pelt itself.

Everyone in this for enough years should know how fur for your section on every different species graded in general from the auction house and make decisions accordingly. Only took me a couple seasons after moving here to know what species are worth sending north vrs marketing privately or sending elsewhere. You can always get burned and disappointed but going in, everyone should have some idea of where to market your particular critters of each species if you’ve dealt with NAFA before belly up or FHA.
So far, overall it looks to be a positive auction imo.
