Just saying, I did not see any sell for $7 but they did go quick through the lots as there was not a lot of bids.

so into 2hr and 34 sec was his first bid at 4.80 about 34 lots in

This sable auction reminds me of the good old days. Lots of bidding. Fun listening to the auction.

Very simple why nil 'rat auction. Nil interest and no point in wasting time on it.

Eastern yotes and coons probably gonna be the same.

Mark Downey was NOT buying rats for himself!!! When he says the bid is mine, it means the on line bidder is the high bidder.

WaYYYY below production cost. Raising a ranch fox in North America costs $80-$95. More if you are paying labor costs.

I've been to auctions like you described for rats. What happened was they had a buyer already in mind and closed it at a very low price and didn't give me a chance to bid. That is why I don't really like auctions.

Pay attention to the hammer. No hammer = no sale, regardless of the price they throw out there trying to attract bids. It's hard to follow the auction at first, it's a different type of auction, but you get used to it after a while.

Beaver, marten and fisher were definitely fun to watch!

Racoon is showing a little life......first 21 lots have sold top lot $29 for lot 01. Seem to be selling, prices are not great but they are moving.

Think Fisher surprised me the most.

From what I saw on top lots was:

Beaver Black: $80
Beaver normal colouration: $57
Otter $84
Fisher lot 19 $74
Muskrat $5
Racoon lot 001. $29

All prices in USD.

Yeah, just a few. My Maine marten averaged $47. I sold my dark male fishers to a private buyer and sent the females to FHA. Looks like they'll average $53. I think that's the highest I've averaged for marten/fisher in about a decade (inflation notwithstanding!)

Well that's it for Saturday, looked like they cleared out the racoon but the prices where not anything to make trappers happy.
