But I think they hired the janitors grandson as their IT guy because he is pretty good on his smart phone and plays a lot of video games.

Best one yet, lol.

Can anyone tell me what they are doing with the skunk hides? Skunk hats in Africa suddenly a thing or what?

Frankie Avalon wore a skunk-skin cap when he starred
beside John Wayne in "The Alamo" movie in 1960.

Sounds like the novelty hasn't worn off yet !!! laugh

George Wacha wore a skunk vest and hat back in the day at convention's, first time i ever met him in '84 at a tri state fur auction he was wearing that get up, years later he told me he got that hat to John Glenn somehow and it ended up on one of his space flights! First skunk hat to go into outer space, lol.

I'd pleased if my coon average what my skunks did. Who'd have thought.

57 years trapping. It's who I am. Every day is still as exciting as it was when I was a kid but a little more work.

I wouldn’t count on it. Maybe 1/2 of the skunk average.

I'm sure you're right but even half the skunk average would make me happier than I was last year. May have to focus more on skunks, lol.

FHA has now updated all trapper portal accounts with today's auction sales information.

I find it interesting that everyone is surprised by the skunk prices. Skunk prices have been strong for years. Trappers really should pay close attention to the fur market if you are trapping with a profit in mind.

What kind of profit comes to mind with $0.47 possums.

If you ask beaucoup walking eagle, he'll tell you the profits are obscene.

Thanks, I'll write that down in my notebook.

Buyers that still buy fur are aware but others it appears not so much.

What recourse do you have if FHA made a mistake on your grades? I sent 2 Ermine this sale, one was the smallest weasel I’ve ever caught, and paper thin. I debated on not sending it actually. It graded 1XSM DGD , which is fine, but the other one was a nice big specimen, it should have easily been a 1XLG, but it also graded a 1XSM which isn’t possible, unless they ripped it in half?. I know this is a very minor issue, but I am trusting them to look after the fur I’m sending, somebody has made a mistake, and someone else is getting paid for a nice Ermine.

All prices USD

For Beaver:
100% clearance from what I saw. Top lot $80 for Blacks and $57 for 3x Select Dark. Probably average out around 30-35 dollar mark. Otters are selling well, with slight increase in prices but most are selling.
