I took Eskarina, one of my 3/4 Kangal, 1/4 Great Pyrenees pups, shed hunting in my lower hayfield today.

She's 5 months old and in the upper 30 pound range. Her brother and sister out weigh her by close to 20 pounds. Eske is dominant over them. She listens well, except she finds it obligatory to eat nearly every turd she finds. I've been taking her on nightly patrols around the barns, while using the word patrol a lot, so that when she's a little older, I can send her out on patrol by herself.

I found the smallest shed I have ever found.

With mushroom season coming up, I should find a lot more sheds. I found 27 sheds in my best year.

I found the shed. She found deer, rabbit, coyote, cat and raccoon turds, most of which she sampled. I am going to worm her again.

Besides the turd eating, she listens very well.

She has been easy to train, except that her and her siblings were not into leash training, but we got it done. They at first sounded like we were trying to kill them, because we didn't start leash training until they were close to 4 months old. They will only occasionally wear a leash for the rest of their lives. They travel well with us off leash.

I don't. I posted on it before. We were getting ready to go somewhere and Diane had perfume on, which she almost never wears. Diane tried to take Katie outside and Katie growled and hid from her. I called Katie and she came right up to me. I leashed her up to.take her outside. When we walked into the kitchen, Diane stepped in front of Katie and Katie tried to bite her. Fortunately I had a good hold on the leash. Katie was in heat, which always made her a little off.

After that, every time Diane would go near Katie, Katie would growl and show her teeth. Katie acted friendly still to me. I.had someone offer me a $1000.00 for Katie, who wanted to breed her to a Dutch Malinois. They were going to keep her in a kennel outside. Katie was used to.being inside, sleeping on the couch or a bed and being interacted with constantly. She loved playing frisbee and fetch. She loved roaming the.farm. I had to travel to South East, Ohio and decided it was better to put her down quickly. She would have been miserable in a small outside kennel. She would probably have been terrified of the new people. I didn't want to leave her in the house with Diane, even with Katie crated.

I learned a lot on coyote behavior from Katie.

I would not keep a pure bred coyote again, but would consider a cross, but definitely not a malinois/coyote cross, that would likely be to dangerous.

Those are all.a lot bigger than what I found today. It may sound weird, but I would like to.find a button off of a button buck sometime. Ive never found one and it seems like it would be a real challenge. I do find patellas sometimes and toe bones.

I have a big pile of antlers buried in my garage. I should sell them.
