Or it's a church that is lead by a true man of God. If your church doesn't grow, you might need to verify the message.

I would hate to guess how much my parents gave Jim Baker, Jerry Falwell, Oral Roberts, and David Wilkerson. Mom still sends money to swindlers of their caliber but will not tell me any details. I would not be surprised if Copeland is successfully scamming her. The only thing in my book scummier than swindling the religious, is someone that preys on children.

God gave us the gift of discernment for a reason. If we chose not to listen or use it that's our free will. Why do you think there are so many warnings in the Bible about false teachers? Think God warns us without cause or without explanation that we will be faced with them?

The "health wealth and prosperity gospel", "name it and claim it" movement, etc is a shallow works-based Gospel that tells people that if God shows favor to them He'll make them rich and healthy, and that they can perform certain acts to obtain God's favor. Several of them (notably Joel Osteen) don't talk about (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) and the consequences of sin and unrepentence.

There are quite a few wolves in sheep's clothing out there. Not everyone who has a big church is a con man, however. This is why you should learn scripture for your self instead of just accepting anything someone in a pulpit says.

Billy Graham was one such preacher, a true man of God.
I remember years ago, a reporter who liked to expose some evangelists went after Mr. Graham. He was shocked by what they found. His clothes, shoes, and suit were bargain basement quality. He didn't drive fancy cars and lived in an average, mediocre style home. In all fairness, they reported it as such.
