That's a box and a milk crate of em..125 dozen for 500. 00. This is a one time deal..the guy is our longest running customer. He wants to be the first to have em at the farmers market where he sells them.
IF IDIOTS GREW ON TREES THIS PLACE WOULD BE AN ORCHARD !

So how many hours is that to collect, clean, and deliver 125 dozen? I always keep track of hours vs profit to see if it’s actually worth my time. My trapping generally pays $27-30hr after it’s all broke down. Of course I’m all of 8-10min away from each property too, which really helps with time. Digging time delivering everything..we have about 6.hrs in them.and we have 2/3s of what he dug left.to.sell. we Figure to make 15 to 1800.00 on this round that he dug. I'll sell them in about 3 hrs. Last year we made 70.00 an hour digging and selling and cleaning included. The digging parts the easiest..the times involved in packaging them.and selling them. He digs. I help some. I do the packaging and 90% of the selling.

There's alot of work involved for sure but there's satisfaction in making money out-of something that most people wouldnt even try to.

I planted about 2 dozen today. paid about $5 ea for the plants. Looks like its alot more lucrative to sell live plants for planting instead of eating.
I have the narrow leaved variety of wild leeks (Allium burdickii) growing in my woods. They are few and far between tho, the deer like to chew them down. I have heard the popular variety (Allium tricoccum) is less bothered by deer I shall see.

I dig them. But I don’t sell them as they have to last me all year.
