Few pics from a beaver gig I’m doing for a neighbor. The Ol’ 1952 Johnson 3hp is still riding for the brand! Also, I didn’t have to use my Magnebed on this job, for a set anyway. I did use it to retrieve my one hand setters when I tossed them in the tote and they bounced over the other side of the boat. I couldn’t get them with my hook so I attached the Magnebed to a beaver stick and it grabbed the setters off the bottom in a couple seconds. (Thanks Eric!) Last pic is Magnebed on a stick used to retrieve setters from bottom.

I’ve always thought running a tiller in a canoe would be a royal pain in the back . I did see a guy run a 2”x12” or something similar off to the right off of the transom . Didn’t know if that would be better or not. What are your thoughts?

I have done the side mount deal on a double end canoe. It takes away from the sleek line and seemed to always be hanging up on stuff. Might as well just use a narrow Jon boat imo.

What am I looking at in the last pic with the milk crate? It’s a pic of the Magnebed I used to retrieve my setters from the bottom after they went overboard.
