We had another successful Trapper's Day at the Capital! Thanks to all that made the trip, some drove a considerable distance to make a stand for trapping. Again I thank you! We had a considerable amount of legislators, the most we've ever had. The future looks bright!. Especially the first hour it seemed we had legislators in our room all the time. Many gave speeches, thanking us, and encouraging us. Some stopped by just to look at the display of fur and to chat about trapping. The governor even stopped for a while! Some legislators stayed and talked with trappers for a good amount of time. Again, it was a good event well worth our time. Thanks again to those that took the time to come down. You guys are a large part of the reason we still have trapping.

Appreciate those that attended for your efforts and determination. Hopefully it’s not done in vane. History and current make up of the guberment doesn’t make me as optimistic as you about the future of trapping in MN.

If we can get through this session without new restrictions I'm extremely optimistic for our future. The 1st term Republicans have a lot of people that have trapped, or have close relatives that trap, and hear from them regularly. If they take over the House next November, we will be in good shape.

It definitely had a different atmosphere down there this year. Last year our strongest allies had concerns. This year they were very positive with what has been going on. Still have not dodged all the bullets so keep reaching out to your legislators and voice your concerns.
