A tree fell on my Tundra back in December during a big wind and rain event.

The insurance company totaled it. I’ve spent the last three months shopping for a suitable replacement. I finally found a decent deal 80 miles and 2+ hours away.

It’s pretty much the same as my old tundra, except for the shorter bed, which I hate. But trying to find a double cab with an 8 foot bed anymore is all but impossible.

It’s a 2018 Tundra SR5 4WD with the 5.7 L and a tow package rated at 10,200 pounds. Under 53,000 miles.

Nice looking truck, hope it last a long time! Half tons with 8’ beds are tough to find aside from regular cab work trucks. Happy trapping! ScottW

I like my Toyota, I had to replace my four runner from an accident. I thought the insurance company gave me a good price for mine until I went shopping for a replacement. Used truck prices are insane

You could have made a fortune selling the squashed one to a Mexican.
They love the Low Riders.

Good looking new truck Lug.

Fluid Film and tranny service coming soon.

The truck lived it's whole life in Florida, never driven on salted roads. The frame is super-clean, no rust anywhere.

I passed on quite a few that were black, wasn't happy about the dark gray on this one but it was too good of a deal to let it go based on the dark color.

If the frame was good on the other one I would have put a new bed on it and put a new windows and keep it also.

Your new truck looks great. I'm sure you will enjoy it

IDK, I haven't driven it at night or in the rain yet, just brought it home today.

It does have halogen lights, I never owned a vehicle equipped with them before, don't know what to expect. Halogen fog lamps too.

It has a cool feature where you can adjust the headlights downwards when your towing a heavy load. In my old Tundra I was always getting flashed at even though my low beams were on. The trailer load sits the back of the truck down enough that oncoming drivers think you're high-beaming them.

The adjustable feature should solve that issue.

Frame was shot. Not bad enough to be replaced by Toyota (no perforations) but plenty of scale.

Older cahs from Florida...rust from the top..down.

Salty air on both sides of the state.

Looks good. I have an 07 and have been looking. What did it set you back? Dealer or individual? Thanks.

I've seen it. Totally true.

Nessy is 100% spot on.

No rust on this one top or bottom. I took a good flashlight with and spent some time crawling around underneath it to verify that.

Nice ride and I suspect Nessy is right. The wet Gulf winds down around Corpus ear vehicles and AC condensers super fast.
