American Bison pulling a couple around Sioux Falls, South Dakota 1885.
Wonder how long it took to train them to pull.

Forget how long it took them to pull, how long did it take to teach them how to stop pulling?

Another winner! Thanks 330. I'm somewhat surprised they're not cows; both are bulls.

Has to be hard to train a buffalo. Cool photo.

Must be nice to eat ice cream as fast as you want and not have to worry about brain freeze.

I wouldn't want to be the guy who had to put those rings in their noses.

Those nose rings were a great inducement for the buffs to do what a trainer wanted.

Those horns are pulled back. That can only be done as they are growing so those two were trained starting as calves.

Ox drivers would do the same with bullocks. Shape the horns as the calf grows.

Cool pic!

I would bet those buffalo were raised by people from calves and are not still "in tact" bulls.

A couple of bison that escaped the slaughter for tongues and hides. Working with them from calf age could make the job much easier.

That was my thoughts too. I would also guess there was a month or so each Fall that I would rather walk that be sitting behind those two bulls.

I have nothing clever to put here.
