7 cents a target is a good buy currently. I used to be able to get a box of 90 at Walmart for $5.98. I see they have raised to $9.98. Fortunately I still probably have 6-7 boxes of targets .I use a Champion Wheely Bird 2.0 thrower with a wobble base and remote control with adjustable delay. You can load about 50 targets at a time on it. Only downside is you can only shoot standard size and not minis or midis.

It was down to -2 last night. It shows -4 for tonight. I will be colder than that. Not many bugs moving.

I would mount that on an old tire and wheel. Makes it more stable than trying to use it on the ground.
Last few years I have been taking the boys to the clay range . It's cheap enough and I don't have wads laying all over my field. ( Drives me nuts to have trash in my fields). I have a thrower just like that an old family friend gave me years ago. He has since passed. It's was a nice thrower and I liked shooting doubled on it. It's great fun for sure. Actually this works real well in the ground...real well. I have a tire but really have no need. I am with you on the pieces left but the belly mower will solve that. On the direct hits there isnt much left. This is just to have fun at home and practice for the gun club. Total fun.

Several times a summer my kids and I will pull out the thrower and a box or two of clays. You are right on about the fun! If you leave them in the box, you don't need a thrower and they are easier to hit.
I have nothing clever to put here.

When I was a young guy throwers werent so cheap.
