I want to get a power washer. Mainly for washing siding, soffit, gutters, cars, boats and occasionally, the deck.

I was surprised that electric models are so highly rated. I definitely want something that has a tank for cleaners/detergent.

Let's hear it.

gas honda stand up power washer or portable electric royobi power washer both work great but Hondas definitely more powerful.

I have a Honda Portable Pressure Washer. I have had it for 5 years. Works great and has more than enough power. Just watch what tip you use on a car. It will so damage with the jet tip.

God please keep they 19 fallen UBB miners out of trouble up there.

major benefit of the electric is that it is small , light and easy to bring in the basement for the winter , if they freeze they are dead.

in the 60s yesterday bring it out hook up the hose , turn on the water and wash cars but know it will freeze again in a few days.

electric is also fairly quiet and one less carburetor to have issues with.

I have a little 1700psi electric sub 100 dollars and works to wash cars , boats , decks , siding

considering I need water from a hose that really keeps me within 100 feet of the house any way so a 100 foot extension cord covers me

if you have hydrants far from buildings with electric gas would make more sense

if you are trying to run higher pressures gas makes sense

if you are setting up a mobile unit on a trailer gas makes sense.

if you need no more pressure than it takes to wash a car or clean the deck , if you go too high pressure you blow the wood apart or damage paint.
and you don't have to make time on large projects to earn $ then electric can make sense.

as for soaps and such , chemical wands unless you need a huge volume of soap
that keeps it out of your pump.

I don't know anything about electric ones. Gas models the price difference is many times in the quality of the pump. Having bought a cheaper but good gas model, when the pump on it exploded i bought a better one next time. Lesson is don't buy junk, you get what you pay for.

Psi is one thing but gpm is important. I would look for at least 1700- 2100 psi and as close to or more than 3gpm.

I'm really questioning if I need gas powered. It's going to sit for months on end, making me think anything with a carb is a potential problem.

I'm not sure it needs to be that powerful either.

Mine is 3000+ psi. Have to be careful not to harm wood surfaces. Afraid to use it on my cars.

Another reason I'm thinking an electric might be a good option for me.

I have a Honda from Sam's, has to be ten years old, fill up tank, add fuel stabilizer. Mine would sit six months, starts right up.

I used a steam cleaner to wash garbage trucks. They will take paint off a new Freightliner

Becareful of what you run through them, my brother in law ran some kind of car wash through his and it ate holes in the alum/pot metal pump. But it might help to run rinse water through it when you are done? Troy bilt.

We wore out a hotsy and then went to camspray it’s been a good machine for around 30 years they’re bigger electric ones I would stay electric just because electric motors have less maintenance, here’s a link to camspray.

Gas sitting in carb gums it up yes. So the trick is to shut the fuel off and let the carb run out of gas then you don't have any trouble b/c you store the carb dry. Put some treatment in the gas and you are good to go for a long long time. They say the seals don't like being dry but I haven't ever had any trouble like that.
