My geese have decided on a spot where to lay their eggs that is in the brush and tough to get at. But one of the puppies has figured out that when he brings a egg to the admiral, he gets a treat. So now when we see the geese hang out a while in that spot laying an egg, we tell Norman to go and get it and sure enough if there is one to be had, he brings it back to her proud as punch and gets his reward. Not even 4 month old and already has a job

Yes the admiral wants to get 3 more. But muggins here has to build her a shed first, so that she can expand the chicken coop and then make the goose coop bigger , half of which is now a coop for new young chickens. Its a logistics thing I am told that of course relies on me to sort it out. But I am off to SC tomorrow for a few days of work work. Then come home and finish sawing the lumber and building the shed out of it. She is going to PA for a week when I get back and with a little luck will come back to a finished shed.

Michael that's a perfect way to have a doggie proud to collect eggs to bring in, not to eat them.

Everyone loves a treat for a job well done grin

Right, those geese need a little protection in order to set on eggs...which would have been how I would come up with more geese...

Pup is lucky as when we raised geese and you tried to reach the nest the gander would really take you on and it was not pretty either. At least the pup is smart enough to get there when they are gone, that is a good sign of having good sense.
