First mole yesterday. I was trying out a Gopherhawk trap. Set near a mound. Ground is too cold for runs. I live in Western Mi.
Way too early to start trapping moles.

A few weeks away still here. We have some jobs on hold until conditions are better.

We started about 2 weeks ago. Set 11 yards this weekend. I’m at 33 so far for the year.

Same here Bob! Nothing on the surface yet, just winter mounds.

We still have frost on the ground where there is shade. We should have 18 inches of snow now but most of it is gone.
I put the first trap in the ground when it was 34 degrees.

Yep we got about 4” of snow on the ground about a week or so ago. They were right below happily eating worms. Snow insulated the ground well but trap selection is key.

lol Bob I was until I started using a modified Talpex clone. I now use that 95% of the time and tunnel traps (duffus), traplines, and putange when needed. I recently started an online store selling the modified talpex I’ve branded as the Mole Reaper. I’ve got other traps on there as well. Not sure if I can post a website so I won’t but if you do some searching for mole reaper you’ll find it. I’m slowly getting the website set up to take payment but as of right now it’s in its infancy and I’m taking orders by email. The website is a work in progress and needs much polishing. But hey, it’s a website dedicated to mole trappers, and mole trappers alone!

PS also working on my logo, don’t judge me ! lol lol

Just funning with you Tony.

You can post your website listings at the bottom of your posting page as I do. That is allowed I understand. If not, Paul will tell you. I would like to see what you have, as I am sure others on here would.

Every year is a good year. No complaints here. Nothing better than living the dream doing what you love to do each day of your life. No man has as much fulfillment as I do daily. I have been blessed.

You need to make a video and show us how you set those traps.

I have watched every video on how to set OOS and just not getting the hang of it. I am thinking of selling them. I have the old ones.

I’ve got videos on my website already and my YouTube page, which you can find the link on my website. Several video tutorials plus other content on other traps. Mole Reapers are the name of the trap. Thanks!

I think Bob was asking about those half barrel traps shown in the above picture. I'm sure he already knows very well how to set the OOS clones. And I like the OOS clones that are constructed of thinner and stronger steel. I never liked that OOS were made from cast iron, it's too prone to breaking. I tried the half barrels years ago and didn't have much success with them, but that was my fault. I don't think I had my technique down very well.

Yes Steve I was referring to those Loop Tunnel traps. I have never used one. I would be interested in seeing how they look and function when set. Hard to beat the Trapline mole traps. I have caught thousands of Moles with them and near as many shrews. I have of course perfected their use to a high degree of efficiency.

Those Clone traps are just another OOS trap in function.

Just stating the facts Steve. They are a sweet little trap. I have trained some men that have developed into mole trapping machines using your traps and our MTP.

Once you learn a good solid setting technique with them it is just a matter of how much you want to work and adapting to soil conditions.

I have pulled 49 Hairy tail moles from one Doctors yard in 10 days. Lots of doubles on that job.
