Man, unfortunately not for long. The wife spent the last part of her maternity leave in FL so I caught some reds and a nice snook, but they definitely don't replace the bones. She has lot of friends and family in Hawaii so we will be back next year prob Feb. She likes to get after it too, and we settled on Big Island and Molokai. Bones and piggies with the longbow. I got to get me some blue water fish on the fly, but the guys in Hawaii are sissies if you're not using bait and a winch, lol. Also, Bahamas in December. The wife like the sun! Started hammering trout here before the thaw. First fish of the year was a 22 brown.
Nice photos. What did the permit eat?

The Permits are neat, hard fighting fish. They look like they are chrome plated.

The fish make the pic, not the person,,,,IMHO
Permit are easy to catch in deep water off of wrecks with bait,,,,
In skinny/shallow water they are nearly impossible to catch
It’s not uncommon to go days/weeks without seeing one,,,they are like unicorns,,,,, then a few seconds of mayhem!!!
They rarely eat,,,,stalking at its finest
Seems like you need 50 shots,,,, then on the 51st they’ll eat like a jack
So much fun!!!!

The Permits are neat, hard fighting fish. They look like they are chrome plated. Yep. Their shape adds to that. They turn their wide bodies to the current and this adds resistance
TILL THAT DAY.....
