Does anyone use these. Purchased all the stretchers from a trapper and there were some of these mixed in.

Wood is preferred but I can't say I've ever been docked for using wire. I like the uniformity that wood gives but at today's prices I'd say use what you are comfortable with. Hopefully some buyers will better answer your question.

I use wood also. Just figures if there is a market for the stretchers I would sell them cheap. Problem shipping would take the cheap away.

Wood boards for me, as they provide the ability to pin out a square butt and the tail as well as providing overall better consistency in shape and fur density thus giving a better overall appearance. Wire mesh for the tail. [Linked Image]

The only constant in trapping is change so keep learning.

I did not even know they made wire mink stretchers.

Mink wire stretchers don't form a mink pelt
anywhere near close to fur industry
standard measurements.

Stick with wood fur forms.

Wood forming boards using a belly wedge and wire mesh to lay the tail have worked well for me for mink and marten. Seems like anything with ferrous metal just grows rust here anyways.

My grandfather, Ralph Space, usta' say that capital punishment should be for 2 things, murder and putting a mink pelt on a wire stretcher.

I remember when they sold them back in the 70's, I think they were made by Victor. I had one but never used it, and I don't recall ever seeing a mink put up on one.
