I use these all the time. Get at dollar store. Slips right through the mesh of the trap from above , easy baiting.
Any brand will work.

Been using the wafers for 25 years. Other flavors work, but strawberry works best. I add a squirt of fish oil from cage to 6-8' out for trailing scent. Raccoons, skunks and opossum. At certain times gray squirrels like them too.

Thanks All !
I let my friend borrow my cage trap for a coon that ate a hole in the side of his garage.
Been using Marshmallows for decades...

But just wanted to tell him a back up ..food.

Thanks Nessy

I'd need ten boxes of those. I like them better than marshmallows. I think I will buy ten boxes of those and marshmallows so that I will have enough marshmallows leftover for actual bait. smile

I like to use a drop of apple oil in the cage and and trail with it about 6 feet apart
Along with mini marshmallows.
Always used meow mix and a couple large marshmallows stuck to the pan. Cat food goes on the pan and behind it also.

Dry cat food, the cheap kind works fine.

I flip the trap over and push marshmallows up through the trap. A couple towards the front and several under the pan. Put something heavy on top so it doesn’t get flipped over.
