Start with best meat I can find. Small market near my camp sells great, really lean ground round or chuck, worth every penny. If in summer I like fresh mater and miracle whip. Home canned Hungarian wax peppers with Lea and Perrins steak sauce also a favorite. Raw onions make me sick so I can't eat them. That's strange , as in my early 20's I developed the same thing with raw onions. Just ate ramps raw that time of the year, for years. Don't really remember when, but ate raw onions again , and no problem. But any pepper frozen raw , still makes me sick, it has to be cooked first before freezing

Cheese , bacon , onion ,lettuce, mayo, pickles , tomato in that order.
Ketchup, mustard , horseradish in that order.
Prefer a flat top burger over a grilled burger myself.

For some reason, I aint never tried it; but that horsey sauce sounds like a natural in which to embed a thick slice of tomato..

You dont want lean meat for burger patties, the fat is where the flavor comes from. I mix in butter.
