We're figuring 3 weeks till our first harvest.

I already have standing orders from 2 guys for 100 lbs each a week..and another 50 in limbo ..I don't know if I'm gonna sell the guy any this year cause Jerry dug him some last yrar and he didn't get them..the guy got them 4 times then flaked on the 5th.

I think jerrys gonna say "screw him"

WOW to think of the money that could be made if deals were struck years ago.
The patches that went on for over a ten or more acre area.
Most are gone now because of development !

RAMP'er up, Girl!

So far ahead of us every year. Ours are sleeping and a long way off. Even with every year getting warmer. I envy you for getting to eat some in a few weeks. We ate the last of our vacuum sealed ones with ham dinner around Christmas.
Still amazes me the money you can get in your area for them. I do know that comes from you doing a lot of leg work to peddle them to different markets and people. Kudos to you and Jerry for making it work between the two of you

Qhen I firs told Jerry we could sell them he thought I was nuts..

The first 2 years we tried to sell them it wasn't successful. I'd set all day and not sell ANY

We said we'd try one more time and we couldnt dig enough.

We actually have a TMan member from.ohio who digs for us when they end here.

Last year he expanded to 3 other diggers to meet the demand.

The all say it's the easiest money they ever made

We sell to everyday people by the dozen and we have some organizations that buy for their ramp feeds which are a big money maker here.

We can.sell everyone that we can deal.

The ramp feed guys usually take between 300 and 500 lbs but we don't star selling by the pijnd tull.other folks start getting them cause we make more on the dozens.

Qe were smart.and have sealed up permissions on thousands of acres of private land so our supply is consistent.

Thwy don't allow for any digging on national forest anymorw..other than a small amount for personal use. Since they've put on restrictions our business is booming cause qe saw this coming and we have alot of permission for as long as we want it.

Alot of the people we dig on let us them dig them foe no fees( we don't pay for any of pur pwrmissions) because they're amazed we have the discipline and drive to work hard and make money by.our own hands and theyre happy to allow us to dig on them.

We're actually a good team. He digs most of them I do help but I do the roadside selling.

Jerry is a workhorse.

Our hope is to be ale to get everything together and to eventually both be able to quit our daily jobs and co.pletely.live off what the land gives us.

That's why I'm trying to develop the persimmon market.

Ive been seeing ad signs buying ramps for a month now

Yes. People are advertising early cause thwy want more people.to dig.

I've been getting contacted for 2 weeks or so.

We had them.3 weeks before anyone even advertised on Facebook last year

I am in North Central Indiana and have access to some of the largest Ramp patches I have ever seen. I dig a few for myself but no one in my area even knows what they are. I have dozens of areas covered for hundreds of feet in any direction. I come home from mushroom hunting smelling like ramps every time.
