I believe there were a couple of sales in the south yesterday. Did anyone go and how were they? Beaver and otter still good? How about cats?

Tony, was your castor green or dry?

That’s an improvement on green otter. I heard the interest in otter was increasing.
Didn’t Arkansas have a sale in Malvern already?
If so, does anyone have information on the totals?

There was a sale in Malvern last Saturday. There's a post on here somewhere, not official numbers.
Spot, were there a bunch of beaver?

I heard that green beaver averaged $34 and put up $37 at the Malvern sale.

I guess prices on beaver are adjusted down a bit.

Those averages are adjusted down? Seem higher than even some of the northern association sales to me.

That don't seem to be a downward adjustment. $34 green!

Last I heard there were 25 lots and pretty sure all of them had some beaver in them. I’d say at least 250 beavers went across. Just a guess. The lonoke sale, seems to me, always does less dollar wise than the Malvern one. Not sure why.
My son said he thought some of the put up beaver went for $35

With these sales it's hard to draw conclusions about the state of the fur trade. Depends on who's there and whether they get into a pissing match with each other, etc etc.
