another thing is round bottom canoes feel tippy but as long as you don't dip that gunnel below the water you haven't gone over yet , flat bottom canoes feel stable till the you cross that point where the flat bottom breaks seal with the water then you are going over that is part of why the sportsman's pal Like Lugnut pictured is so popular and you will almost never find a used one cheap. they might be the single most value holding canoe around. those bumpers are also flotation the bottom isn't flat and it has a bit of roll to the keel https://www.boundless-pursuit.com/post/sportspal-s-13-canoe-reviewfor the money if your buying a new trapping tool not sure you could do better they run around 12-1400 https://www.atkenco.com/brand/radisson-canoenot sure how it will work with your muck over mud bottoms but if you can stick a paddle , push pole , long stake down and hold it with one hand while lifting with the other you can be more stable and put that weight down on the bottom while swinging something heavy out of the water also forget about sitting seats in a canoe you rest your but on them at most while kneeling , Kneeling like Lugnut you are as stable as it gets you can put your entire body into the stroke you can feel everything and your core does most of the work.

It looks like it would be pretty stable. What's the cost?
Most in this country have things people in other countries only dream about. Yet, they want America to be more like those other countries.
