any tips to change the cat to skunk ratio
that doesn't involve locking up all the stupid cats or eliminating them first.
my first move will be skunks are seen in the ditch line east of the barns where cats are less likely to be they tend to stay closer to the barns. so I am targeting that area father from the barns first.
any other ideas.
I am not a skunk trapper but it's what needs got before the chickens are back from the winter barn.

Must be nice to eat ice cream as fast as you want and not have to worry about brain freeze.

Sorry guys but marshmallows aren't nessasaraly the answer either as I've caught domestic cats in livetraps ment for raccoons. Remember the phrase "curiosity kills the cat?" I've tried marshmallows, eggs, sweet cereal and Gusto and still caught them. Nothing is 100% but there are baits and sets that are less likely to attract them. Best luck I've has is like others and make things very uncomfortable so they don't make that mistake again.
Common sense is a not a vegetable that does well in everyone's garden.

But all thing being equal a sweet plant based bait is less attractive to cats which require a meat based diet. But like you said curiosity is the deal breaker and it's often difficult to avoid setting any sort of cage and not have a stinking cat check it out. I've watched a cat sniff around and enter a totally clean unbaited cage like they were measuring it for drapes, lol.

thanks for the bait suggestions
I am going to catch cats , it's a live trap I will let them out no harm, I was just looking for maybe changing from 10 cats to every skunk to 5 cats to every skunk.
