I picked up my boys both a .22 cal Benjamin maxamas off midway sale for $125 each. Picked up a hand pump for $60 off Amazon. Takes about 70 pumps for fill the gun to 2000 psi and it's good for 20 to 24 shots
. I put cheap 2x Simmons 22 mag scopes on them for $35.

Accuracy well my youngest was knocking cans off the fence post at 73 yards when he was 9. Have used them for a trap line gun and they do very well . I have not tried to shoot them for groups but the boys have no problem shooting 1/2 to 3/4 30 yard groups. Good enough for anything they need to kill with them. So they can be cheap.

Also remember when it comes to springers or nitro positions DO NOT SHOOT THEM LIKE A REGULAR RIFLE. They have a double recoil and at harmonic nightmares they generally WILL NOT generally shoot well if you try to shoot them as you wouldn't anything else. Ive had a lot of guys in ox me saying how they couldn't keep anything in a group smaller then a pie plate @ 25 yd . 9/10 times their tying to shoot it like a regular gunAlso they will break scopes that are not air gun rated ..I'm not joking. If your $700 leupold isn't airgun rated a $100 springers will break it usually before you get though a tin of pellets.

Personally I'd go with a PCP their stupid

Good thing it is a 700$ Leupold scope. They will fix it for you if it breaks!!

Too many $75-$150 air rifle scope out here that won't break for me to waste my time laugh

I shot a friend springer sighting it in for him. I grew up with my .20 cal Sheridan pump. Best groups I could get from the Springer was about 2" at 20 yards. My Sheridan makes one ragad hole with 8 pumps at 30. I was not impressed. Tired several pellets in the Springer. . A year or so later I read you need a different hold to get them to shoot. Ya no thanks it's my .20 cal pump that now has MAC 1 steroid kit installed or a PCP for me. . I sent Sent the Sheridan out to California to have that beefed up kit done . Now it has as much power with 6 pums as it did with 8 and can safely be pumped up to 14 times.

Picked up a gamo urban last month on sale usually $300 got if for 280 with free shipping well I only paid half . Gf went in 50/50 , she wanted something she could plink with in her back yard ( lives in city limits with neighbors within spitting distance so her .22lr is a no go) and I like ha ing it because since it's legally not a fire arm I am use it ina lot of places for squirrel and small game. 3000PSI air tank inst the worst thing to fill , had to get a new hand pump because my old Benjamin on is worn out and disassembled but once you get it to 1k psi it sonly a minute or two to fill it to 3k. Nice lil exercise and good for about 25-30 shots it seems.
It's STUPID QUITE! Had more noise coming from with the pellet TWACKED the pigeons then the muzzle. 10 red rotary mad is nice too. Definitely would reccomended

I based my prices on a FX Dreamline compact tac. Folding stock. Several scopes in that price range. If I’m shooting for $$ I want the most accurate rifle I can find, Utah Airguns pointed me in that direction. You can adjust the gun a fair amount. Shooting inside vs. outside. You will want to have a dope sheet for the differences.

The regulated air venturi line will do everything fx will for a fraction of the price. Utah has makes a killing on those fx, that's why they push them so hard .

Here's a 5 shot group from mine at 45 yards. I have taken pigeons at 100 with it. It has been an awesome budget gun.

Growing up from 11 to 18 my brother and I both had BB guns. The slide pump type.

After a trip to Oklahoma, we aquired a .22 caliber Crossman that my older cousins had. That thing was wicked.

I got a refurbished 22 cal gas piston Benjamin Predator from Midway. When I first got it I took it out to sight it in and before I was done I decided it was a waste of money. The trigger was so bad there was no shooting it any where near accurate. I came back in the house and l looked up doing a trigger job on it on u tube and found a video of putting a axel bearing off a RC over a pin to in large the diameter. I went on ebay and ordered the bearing which th video told the size of for $8 shipped. When it came i put the bearing in as the video showed and it has a great trigger now. I have shot quite a few stripped gophers and starlings with it. I ha shot starlings out to about 50-60 yards with it. I never shot at paper with it. I shot at a nail head on a old wood grain bin. When I got so t hit with in a quarter inch of the nail head I stopped. I really like it, for a cheap gun. I have thought about getting a gas piston in .25 caliber. If I knew I could get one that would shoot as good as the .22 does I would order it. I hate the idea of spending $1000 on a pellet rifle, scope and compressor. I have shot a Air Arms S510 enough to know what a PCP will do, I just don't feel like I need one.

What is the proper shooting technique for a springer air rifle? I have a RWS Dianna model 48 .177 caliber that i bought for my late father probably 30 yrs ago. I would like to get it out and shoot it some. I know he had trouble getting it to shoot until he put an air rifle scope and mount on it
