Been doing some reading. A lot of cartridges started out as 30-06. 250 3000 for example. Turned into 22-250, 300 savage. Even 308 that became 243 7mm 08. Not to mention 25 06 and 270 280. Anybody ever used 06 cases to make 22 250 308 250 3000? How much effort went into it? Have a friend with a rifle put together by P.O. Ackley. 228 06. I have watched him make cases from 06 brass. Took the the decapping pin out of the resizing die. Cut off the neck at the top of the die. Trimmed it some. Put the pin back in and resized again. Then trimmed to length. I have no plans to do this just wondering if anyone has.

I make 280 AI cases from Lapua 30-06. Just run the 30-06 case through standard 280 die set up for a false shoulder. Load the case and fire form.

Pretty much the same to make 264 win mag from 7mm rem mag case.

The 8x57 case proceeds the 30-06 which is a bit longer. So any of the following can be made from 30-06 also just to name a few more. 8x57, 7x57, 257 rob, 6mm rem, etc

When you go down to 6mm or less, you will have to line the tedious chore of neck turning as there is just to much brass in the neck area otherwise. I have made 270 out of 30-06 and am planning to build a 6.5 - 06 AI as my next project once I have some others out of the way.
