I had forgotten there's not much rest for a taxidermist. Not sleeping at night. 230 in the mornings your in your shop alone. Classic rock station on the radio. The smell of bondo, Acetone. Epoxies in the air. I just tell myself it smells just like money in here. Resperator? When I'm airbrushing? Don't need no stinking respirator. I actually like the smell of airbrush cleaner. Smells like candy
Deer coming in steady. It's a good sign. I had a thought that it would possibly take 2 years before I could establish my taxi business again but evidently my reputation doing good work never left my name. People hearing I'm back in the game has been a blessing.

I had an idea one time that I might want to do taxidermy on the side but I figured out quick that laying waterline, sewer and storm drain for a living doesn’t leave any time for side work. I also figured out that after doing a few mounts for myself that I do not have the patience to do it for others. I respect taxidermists and glad they do what they do. Most people don’t realize the work involved until they try it themselves. Congrats on the success! Hard work does pay off.
