What do you guys think this is? Female 19lbs 9oz Caught where Bobcats and Lynx frequent. Snow was wet and melting, Cat was wet. Front paw Front paw Front paw Bobcat? Lynx? Cross between Bobcat/Lynx?

I say cross.looks like some bobcat genetics present there. What colour was the meat-white like lynx or dark like bobcat.

As soon as I saw the Cat I thought Lynx. Then seconds later I was like nope it’s a bobcat. Every time I looked at it I would change my mind and kept going back and forth.
When I got home I looked at it closer and think it’s a cross between the two. Hybrid.
The paws and tail are what I clued into.
No pads showing on the paws and the tail looks exactly the same as a hybrid shows that I found on google.
The paws are smaller than Lynx I’ve caught before, but larger than bobcat.

Unless you have small hands, that paw is awful big for a bobcat and I agree there are several reasons it could be a lynx. That being said, I see a lot of bobcat traits too so the hybrid theory might explain everything.

Down here, any bobcat under about 20 pounds, the paw will fit inside of a Copenhagen can. When I spot a bigger track, I know it's likely a big tom trying to "serve" as many as he can about this time of yr.

Now, do I want it to sell as a Bobcat or a Lynx at the auction?
I’m sure they don’t have a ‘hybrid’ section.
