What should I expect if I were to drive to Coldfoot for a night around October 7th. Wanted to do the arctic circle thing and hopefully see some wildlife. I’ll be in a 4x4.

Is the Dalton really like they make it out to be on Ice Road Truckers?

It can be an easy drive or a deadly experience. Weather is a big factor in enjoying the drive. Tour companies have increased traffic. Play it by ear.

Easy-Peasy, if you can drive any two lane gravel road, you can drive the Dalton. Don’t drive like an idiot and pay attention to signs. It is an easy drive to Coldfoot.

GUK.....it's the sound they make when they hit the end of the cable

Easy to navigate. Not too many wrong turns you can take!

Nothing like ice road truckers. the first 70 miles is paved. If you don't like a semi on your bumper, pull over he'll go by and you will have a great trip.

Life is hard. It's even harder if your stupid!

The Dalton is relatively easy to drive, until Atigun Pass. It can be very much winter-like there in late August, from my experience.
