I tapped trees yesterday. Plan on boiling tomorrow. Bought a small bucket RO unit. Looking forward to trying it out. Hoping it will cut my boiling time by a third to a half. Who else has tapped?

I pulled the taps today. Only cooked 2 batches. Crazy year! The R.O. unit works nice. Probably only used 1/2 the wood as before. With the time to run the R.O. unit before cooking, it probably ends up about the same total time. My Red Maples ran about 1.5 on the hydrometer. After running through the R.O. it measured 3.5 to 4.

Don't know your weather in your state, but here, it's not good for good syrup making. It's way out of normal limits. Trees may leaf out next month.
