Add a .20 caliber bullet to your inventory. The .204 Ruger is a great fur friendly round. Problem is most of the .204 ammunition are the plastic tips. No bueno. Just something to consider.

Ok so no tip, hp....what a our velocity threshold? What about how much they hold together and act , jacket thickness boait tail vs flat base some form of coating ?

wolfie what twist is your barrel, you will need at least a 7 to stabilize much over 25 gr.

try Black hole bullets post falls Idaho. They make 25 grain and 30 grain. Looks like all they have in stock right now id 30 grain but they run 25 grain a couple times a year.give them a call (208) 691-8541.

if you can get them up around 3900 the 25 gr. should shoot better, IIRC mv for the 17 rem. 25 gr hp was 4020 fps

I use a 17 Remington and a 17 Hornet for predators. I would like a hollow point or soft point in 25 grain with a boat tail.

I bought a 9 twist shilen for shootin 30gr 17's


It does that well.

Yup, looked the twist rate on my Remington 700 in 17 Remington = 1:9 Shoots 25s and 30s better than I can now.
