I want to thank each one involved in my receiving a gift box. I am very grateful for your kindness. I had posted about getting my knees smashed under a heifer and a gate while helping my son load some fat cattle last Thursday. Just an update on my injuries. My knee caps have puncture wounds and major swelling. They sent me home last Friday afternoon with pain medication and no antibiotics. Saturday evening I noticed redness spreading. Went back to ER and they admitted me back into hospital because of infection. Still in hospital working with infectious disease doctors trying to get infection under control. Still don't know if anything is torn yet. Possible MRI tomorrow to check. Again thanks for the gift basket. I really appreciate it. Get better!

Definitely not something to mess around with. Similar thing happened to me several years ago where they stitched me up and sent me home with no antibiotics. Within a day or 2 I thought I was noticing infection, but the next day was Easter sunday and being dumb I didn't want to spend the holiday in the hospital so didn't go in on Saturday. That night a huge storm rolled through and dropped a powerline across our driveway. We couldn't get out. My leg got worse over the day and I finally said we needed to find a way out. So with 4WD and a saw we got out and I got to the hospital but by then gangrene had set in and they had to cut out a sizable chunk of my thigh muscle. It ended up healing up ok with no long term effects but it could have been a lot worse if I didn't get to the ER when I did.

Glad it worked out well.
