I enjoy shopping at at auctions. I collect antique axes, hatchets, cleavers and artifacts. Diane collects antique spinning wheels, looms and related items. The auctions I buy at mostly sell the items I collect in lots with other items, often not even remotely related. I can typically buy the same brand and condition axe, in a lot with unrelated items, for a fraction of the price if sold alone. I thus end up with a bunch of stuff, mostly not junk, that I don't collect or need. I have a great hammer collection now, because most axe heads, hatchet heads and hatchets sell with hammers. Sometimes I get 3 or 4 hammers for every hatchet I actually wanted to buy. I'm thinking of putting together and organized collection of incidental hammers. Axes usually get lumped together with garden tools, like shovels, pick axes, railroad and mining tools. What do those of you who buy at auctions do with the random, non-junk, that comes with the items you actually want? Here's some of today's bycatch. Keith

Thanks. Very awesome looking, antique wood furniture, sells for very little here, if it sells at all, if the pieces are very large. Small antique pieces sell well here. I think people must not have the space for the beautiful large pieces. I got this tool box today too. They just had it on the edge of the picture with the blacksmith or farrier nippers, I did want. I could not tell what it was and thought it was wood. It will be useful for me. Here's the nippers. I mostly just clean and oil up the incidentals and put them away. I'm thinking about covering two walls in my garage with old tools. I think it would be neat, if it doesn't get to dusty. Keith

I see some sheep shears ... Yes, when I first squeezed the.shears, dust and bits of wool flew out. They must no.have believed in cleaning their tools before they put them away. They did have a lot of grease on them, which may have been lanolin. What I actually bought the lots for was axes, hatchets, Stanley steel splitting wedges, a cant hook, a Native American horse hoof pestle and the nippers. Here's an axe head I wanted. Keith

I would think a lot of the unwanted items you have would be good sellers, did you ever think about sell those items on the "Shed" or eBay?
I got myself a seniors' GPS. Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination, it tells me why I wanted to go there.

I've been watching videos on selling on EBay and some other platforms. It looks like there's a lot of hassles involved and a good chance of getting ripped off by buyers. I may try it anyways. Keith

Cool collection. I am a sucker for old knives, antique barbed wire, and old fencing pliers (which are a trappers best friend).
I mention those 3, but of course I also think I need old wooden fishing lures, collector traps, and vintage signs.

I bought at an auction last week, that had an old board with probably close to 20 different types of barbwire on it, in horizontal pieces. Some were really cool and could hurt you really badly if you ran into or fell on them. Keith

I have one of those Stanley wedges I also have an old hammer head like they used for circus tents. It’s big old round sledgehammer type head.
Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!

I have a lot of Solid Brass Pipe wrenches like that first picture. They were required in Gassy Mines back in the twenties.
God please keep they 19 fallen UBB miners out of trouble up there.
