Is anyone running the Duke 650s two coiled? I got a couple to try out recently, but I could only get them four coiled and they seemed too strong to me. Typically I run two coiled mb550s, Montana #2's & Montana #3s.

I use them four could for coyotes and bobcats, no problem with an occasional coon and have caught a few badger with them. Very happy with them.

I run them 4-coiled, and love 'em.

I'm generally not a fan of four coiled traps, as I rarely have to deal with freezing conditions and find, for me, four coiling just makes traps harder to set, harder on non-targets, & pinches my fingers more if I catch myself in one. I'm sure four coiled would work fine, I was just hoping someone had run them as two coils as well. The fact I didn't see a factory option for two coil the way there usually is made me a bit nervous. Made me wonder if this trap actually needed four coiling to perform well. I guess I will just pull off some springs & see how it does if no one has run them that way already.

I run both the 550 and 650 2-coiled. I have yet to have a problem holding anything.

I didn’t think Duke traps held anything?

Thanks. I'm glad that two coiled has been working out on the 650s.

All Duke 4 coils are severely over sprung. If you're going to run 4 coils on the Dukes, get the aftermarket 4 coil add ons.

My experience with the Duke #4 was the opposite. Weak.
