That certainly is a sweet looking hat when I was about the same age as Bobbie is now I was given a seal skin hat that kept me very warm even on our coldest days of winter .

I'm sure that hat will do the same for him !

Thank you for the suggestions on the books too I'll check them out .

When I got that wolverine in first creek I asked Ethan come with me but he said it was too far. When I got back told him he should of come he would have shot that wolverine. He wanted to go after that but it got too cold for him. only caught wolverine in connibear after that anyways. Maybe ill set him a short line next month in School camp so he could get started. Try for some lynx and otter, there usually an odd wolverine in there too. I should extend that trail to behind Jim Firths always wolves going by there to check for fish. i wonder if that trail they cut in the 90s is grown up?

That's great Ryan. Amazing gift and I'm sure he'll put it to good use.

One heck of a marten. Jk
Never seen one get it’s head that far into a 120 before
[Linked Image]

Fresh wolverine running down the highway on the way home after a long night on the line. Didn’t see him but with snow coming down hard he couldn’t have been more than 5 minutes ahead of me by the looks of it.
Not much running around during the cold weather but it’s much warmer today so hopefully the traps get some action. Picked up a few foxes and marten. Good to get those foxes off the line

Nice light coloring on that marten. Good luck with the animals moving about and finding your sets.

Any chance there is a relationship between him and the Firth River?

Learning process. Sure beats dealing with liquid grease.

Learning process. Sure beats dealing with liquid grease. Used a bit too much pressure and made two small holes but once I got it figured out I think I'll be doing more like this. I Used to see my grandparents flesh mink with a spoon just like this

Frost scraping just like BOCO has shown and described. Shaving off flesh and fat with a scraper while hide is frozen. Save yourself from dealing with messy grease

Nice job Ryan. That frost scraping works well on caribou hides too

Ryan cased his wolverine and used a fleshing beam i think but still basically the same idea. You may have to skip past the fence pen bit.
