For information that leads me to the purchase of this trap. Trap must be authentic. In good condition and have history.

Imagine this goes over the breathing hole of ringed/jar seals was the idea. Those spikes would be slightly angled up so the seal could come up but not go down - my guess only,

About 20 years ago a guy used to put large conibear traps over seal holes and get them.

The spikes are pinned so that they can hinge up but not down. Cool system

It seams to me you did use the trapping manual and did not like it. so is the $500 reward real? Or is this just scam?

I love the smell of burning spruce---I love the sound of a spring time goose---I love the feel of 40 below---from my trapline I will never go!

I bought one of these traps but didnt like the agenda it was trying to push. Plus I was already a way better seal trapper.

There was a very similar contraption used for bears, and made by a blacksmith back east somewhere around 1900, they apparently worked extremely well and were outlawed shortly after. And the bunny huggers think our traps today are "inhumane".

I decided maybe its the Alaska Wolf Trapping manual that's keeping people from claiming the reward. So I am going to remove it from the reward(can't say I blame them for not wanting it). Instead I am gonna up the reward by offering $500 and an Alaskan # 9 wolf trap. Surely someone can be incentivized now.

I was told that during the depression that guys would take a 55 gal.drum and cut it in a few places on one end and bend them in and bait the barrel. The pieces that were cut were bent inwards so the bear could stick his head in but not get it out.

Or a can of beans, same concept but smaller scale to catch the tongue.
