I dropped my land lines at home and at camp many years ago, don't miss them a bit.
I dropped the one at home first.
My camp is in a rural area of north-central PA. My property is the last stop for electric and phone service and cell service used to suck. I had some older members with health issues back then and kept the land line in case of emergencies. When cell service improved to the point where you got service inside camp and didn't have to walk up the side of the ridge out back, I dropped the land line.
I still keep and land line for my business and fax. The spam calls and faxes are frequent and never-ending. The "Do Not Call" registries are a completely useless joke of program.
At least with my cell phone I can block spam callers. If I don't recognize the number I don't answer. If no message is left by that caller I block that number. I have hundreds of numbers blocked. After a while it seems to help. I get three or four times the spam calls on my business land line that I do on my cell phone.
Eh...wot?

We still have ours. We pay 20$ a month for it so it doesn't break the bank.

I have a landline. What I miss is phonebooks. Cant call anyone without getting a number from them first

We canceled the home line years ago, no one called it anymore except scammers,.Unfortunately cell service, in spite of the glowing ads, is going backwards. It's all of the providers too, dropped calls, unintelligible voices , text failures, I can't get a call in my backyard, gotta go inside and sit by the wifi ,it's become very frustrating, and I live in a populated county with "full" coverage....

still have a landline, no cell phone. We don't get many unwanted calls, maybe 1-2 /week. Get the internet thru the phone company too. Heck, I still have a rotary phone on my desk that I use.
