What's outdoor quirks y'all see around y'all that are kinda a regional thing or something y'all have seen much or as much outside of your area ? Seems about every county region town ect has some .Down here ( my area specifically) some ive noticed are
* never field dress deer
*Freezing fish whole, like don't gut then or anything was them off when you get one toss them in a bag and thaw them out and process them when your wanting to eat. At least with small fish like bream
* About any semi serious fisherman will be rocking red cigar floats on their rods.
* taking neck shots whenever possible
* black and milds when fishing in the summer
* just about all deer and wild hog meat gets ground into sausage of some sort not a ton of butcher cuts or anything
* Getting permission usually requires you know someone the property owner knows
* Eveyone seems to know and use the same two or three knots fishing but know on knows the names
* people hate hogs ...but also like them to where if they know they have them in their property they will complain but not let you hunt them....it's weird...
* if there cows.....good luck.....just good luck
* just about eveyone calls a spinning reel a open face ..but will also call call a bait caster an open face ...an no one seems to know what a spin cast is
* people think your weird if you don't use a snap swivel ( only ever brass it seems) to your hook or you use a midline swivel.....wire leaders are more acceptable though for some reason
Anyhow that's some of mine what about yall

Iffn I posted my quirks, I'd get a permanent vacation. OK, one, on second though, will refrain.
swampgas chili and schmidt beer makes for a deadly combo
You have to remember that 1 out of 3 Democratic Voters is just as dumb as the other two.

Was a tradition to bite the head off the first smelt of the year when we used to net them. Same in Mn

They do that here WYTEX. Also spoonbill.
I get a kick out of the guys hunting coyotes with dogs. The trail hound and sight dog guys both call their coyote dogs wolf dogs.
Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

Used to be in the little villages along the Missouri River guys would nail big catfish heads to trees in the front yard to show o.ff.Now.n they're smart enough to release them to be caught again. Here it's whitetail deer farmers complain about but won't give permission. I won't use swivels or colored line with lures as fish can see something is wrong. Catfish in muddy water is fine.
