Wear leather gloves and store them out of sunlight. Fiberglass splinters are no joke

I ve found them to be very flexible when trying to shove into hard River bottoms. They are alot lighter then steel and with some slight griinding with an angle grinder and a sanding disc, you can use the hagz drowning rod ends.
I like them for soft/muddy bottoms

I bought a couple, put the hagz brackets on and put a good point on them. I also painted them black and had no problems with them. If in a rocky bottom can be tougher to get in the bottom, but I eventually got them anchored. They come 10 foot long but you can cut them to 9 or 8 foot long before you put the brackets. Quite a bit lighter of course and easy carrying for longer distance sets. I like to use various different anchoring systems cables with bags etc. Also this year I carried a small D handled spade shovel with a shoulder bag with a couple traps and feed bags in it. When no rocks around fill it up with dirt and you have a quick anchor. Try a couple fiberglass rods I think they have a place in beaver trapping especially for the longer hikes.

X2. I swear you could look at them and get splinters. I painted them the next year and that helped.

As far as hard wear goes, I anneal a nut and put it up from the bottom whatever distance you want. Slightly smash it with a hammer and it will hold no problem. Top end I take a short peice of conduit and weld a big/fender washer to it and then put my slider lock on then put the conduit on the top and smash it on. I've held every animal with that hardware system. I don't have a dollar in the hardware for one rod complete.

I still prefer steel . Don’t like gloves or splinters and they are loaded with splinters
