I love my MJs with the cast jaws I think the surface holds better.

For $3.00 more per trap per dozen I think I'd go with the cast jaws.
Although there's nothing wrong with the outside laminations. I had all my Bridger # 2 offsets outside laminated a few years ago. Less damage and no problems since.
Eh...wot?

I will be the minority and go with laminated. I have had poor luck with cast jaws and tractors. Steel can be bent and not break. Just my opinion.
I have nothing clever to put here.

I’m curious too, is it just the holding power of cast that’s better? Has anyone lost an animal with OL that they feel cast would have held? Does cast last longer?
I have both but haven’t personally seen much if any difference, I have very limited experience so am not an expert by any means.

I get a a lot of mashed traps each year because I primarily set tractor trails and I tend to crowd the edge of the track too close. Lots of my Northwoods 1.75's get run over. I take them apart, beat them back into shape and put them back into service.

I didn't think cast could bend....???
And I would think a tractor would not break it.
