Nice! That's a good amount of fur put up in a day.

We could always take up a collection and buy you more nails.
Don't get too butt-hurt, I realize when that bear comes back from the tannery you won't be able to tell the difference. But when I tack out something like that I'd used a few more nails, it just makes it look a little nicer.
It reminds me of many years ago, I looked at a particular lot of blanket size beaver at the Seattle Fur Exchange auction, there were 10 beaver in a sample lot of 100 or so skins. Nine of the beaver were put-up beautifully; perfectly symmetrical, nails each spaced about an inch apart, fleshed like parchment. Then there was one skin that the guy had tacked out with only about 16 nails, and the fleshing was enough to get enough fat and flesh off the skin so that it dried okay, but it wasn't pretty. And to think that the guy who put up that beaver got exactly the same amount for his beaver that all the other guys got.

Putting up fur is not my favorite thing to do. But I sure do like seeing it hanging. Nice..... I enjoy putting it up kind of like cleaning fish some people don’t like to do it but it just means you’re successful lol

I enjoy putting it up kind of like cleaning fish some people don’t like to do it but it just means you’re successful lol That's why catch and release fishing has taken off so well in recent years. Truth be known, It has little to do with conservation. Folks running around in fancy boats and high end electronics can't be bothered with cleaning fish at the end of the day.

CC, what do you do to get your coon tails to look like that? Sort of short and wide? Thanks. You can’t see it in the picture, but there is about a 4” by 8” piece of wire mesh over the tail. Just push the tail up a bit and lay the wire over it and staple the corners. Those are a neighbor kids coon. I helped him put them up. I haven’t set a coon trap other than nuisance work in 4 years.
