I love seeing the flag go down and watching the spool turn on the ice. The run over to the tip up!

And I like jigging lakers and playing the chase game, catching a ton of soft biting crappie...


And watching a jacker snap off and then the rod bend to the water and drag start going as you frantically run over is fun too!

Price is good , but marketing can be a funny thing sometimes.

About 30 years ago an artist friend of mine was making those small hand blown glass figurines that were very popular at the time. Little things like animals , flowers and bunch of different shapes and colors. Very pretty.

He was selling them for $5 a piece. They were moving slowly.
A friend of his suggested his price was too low. What ?????

Got him to raise the price to $15. They sold like hotcakes. With the higher price it conveyed a higher quality of art.

That product could sell for more. It might even sell better.

I want a much bigger setup that throws the fish up on the bank so that I can sit in my heated truck on land. That way, if I'm only halfway into a beer, I can calmly finish it at my leisure without worrying about spilling it running out to reel the fish in.

My buds were already talking about setting the holder and release real far apart and setting up a downrigger or 9 foot noodle rod on the ice haha

Just like the guy that put an old wooden desk at the end of his driveway .....with a free sign on it....no takers.

Then he put a 100.00 price tag on it....someone stole it...lol

I think I'll stick with my home made tip-ups with an under water reel.

I was thinking the same thing if the fish grabs the minnow just by the head. The hook is set prematurely and you lose the fish and minnow. By the time you get to a tip up the fish has had enough time to get the hook in its mouth. All you have to do is tighten up the line and set the hook. i don't miss many that way.

We did something similar with a garage sale and a washer and dryer that didn't sell. Put them out by the road with a sign that said, FREE, BOTH WORK. No takers after a couple days.
So, we put a sign on them $15 EACH, BOTH WORK. They disappeared during the night.
