Perhaps it would help to pray as Jesus did in Luke 23:34 (ESV), "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do."

Although these verses are not specifically about forgiveness, I think they shed some light on the situation just the same.

And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you. And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city. Matthew 10:13-15

From my understanding the Bible does not put a context on when we should forgive or shouldn't. Simply states we should forgive. Therfore the idea would be that we do in all circumstances.

Forgiveness is not for the benefit of the offender but rather for the offended. Though if the offender repents and asks for it, it can be a blessing unto both.

This is my way of thinking too. Now where men's justice fits in the equation is a mystery to me.

To forgive doesn't mean you have to forget.
That would be the work of God.
If my sins beings forgiven means I must fogive= be christ like. Then it's a no Brainerd for me.
