And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you. Therfore the idea would be that we do in all circumstances. Forgiveness is not for the benefit of the offender but rather for the offended. Though if the offender repents and asks for it, it can be a blessing unto both. This is my way of thinking too. Now where men's justice fits in the equation is a mystery to me.
