How are your food plots holding up ? Of course my grass blends are dormant but the turnips blends, sugar beets, and radishes are still drawing a crowd .

Whats your blend?

It actually has more than 7 types of seed in it. I started with a brassica blend that a local co-op sells for food plots. It contains Purple top turnips, white turnips, kale, radishes,. Then I mixed in ladino clover, winter peas, soybeans, oats, and winter wheat. I went in also and broadcast some sun flowers but turkeys got them.

That middle Buck is a nice one.

Left out sugar beets in the blend... Food plot police will catch that .

Looking good- food plots and land management are just as much fun as deer hunting.

Just disc it up with old garden disc. It’s approximately 1/2 acre I put 100 lbs of 19-19-19 and 100 lbs of PELLETIZED LIME . April 15th

Yes we get it to some extent every year Last year Christmas Eve night it was -13 and 6 in of snow. Right now we have around 6 in and going below zero this weekend. -2 Wednesday morning

Never would have thought u got snow in Kentucky … there has been years in ny when the deer wouldn’t touch turnips until after the frost …. Every year is different lately not much snow for this deer season …

I know this will TOTALLY baffle you, lots of common sense things do... :D,
If anyone has a 1/2 acre plot this time of year that deer are eating, it means the deer have been eating on something MUCH better somewhere else.
The ONLY reason those deer are there is because of the snow and cold. Heck, I have clover fields that have been gone since mid October that have deer in them this time of year during cold/ windy weather. They will dig through a foot of snow to find a scrap of food (in cover) before going to a good food source and enduring wind/ cold in their preferred spot.

I know you are proud of that " blend" and think you did it right but..., 20 years of doing this, you ain't pulling nothing over on me.
That shaded area DID NOT GROW 1/2 the stuff you planted into anything even decent!. GUARANTEED!

Edit:, , my pumpkins did not turn out great last year. Bad drought. But better then expected.
I gotta pick out a smaller boring bit next year. Date night proved that

Hey bucks and bra wondering when your jealousy would bring you out ! Remember when I planted this and you wanted up dates each month . I posted June’s pics and you went crickets. These deer didn’t just show up since last week’s snow. They been in the plot all fall.I killed my 8 pt in this plot Being the deer genius you are you should know that around zero temps deer need more food. There is 210 acres of standing beans across the road from my plot. But last 2 weeks with this frigid air they are in it all night and early morning. In fact I have gotten 116 pics since 6:30 pm This is the plot mid June

How is your pumpkin holding up in these temps? Or did you use them all up on your date nights ? Lol lol
