Thank you. Hand sewing took a long time but we'll worth it.
I tan everything I catch. I can't sell put up fur for what they are giving these days. I should mention I shot the deer, didn't trap it. Lol

I use rittels ez-100 tanning kit. I buy their super solvent degreaser and ph strips seperately. Everything else is in the kit. Once you have the kit you can replace individual items as needed. Other than that I just follow the directions. Breaking until it's fully dry is important or you end up with a stiff pelt. I did the deer hide with it and had to use a belt sander to thin it enough. Most animals just need enough sanding by hand to take down high spots and give the leather that suede feel. Coon necks/backs need a little more thinning. I caught an otter last year and sent that one to the tannery since they are thick all the way down.

You are welcome. If you can do deer skin most furs will be a breeze.
I see Boco replied above. He is the tanning master. I learned a lot reading his tanning/fur handling posts.

I made holes with a leather tool (looks like a fork) on all the pieces. Sewed with a glover's needle and heavy duty thread for making boat covers. I bought some waxed thread but it wouldn't thread through the needle.
