What is a good reasonably priced red gun mounted kill light? I would like to have positive identification out to 300 yards max and a pressure switch.

I have a varmint light vx-1. It's only good to about 150 yards which I made work. I got my gear out today to check over since this extreme cold might be a good time to call and the pressure switch no longer works. Time for something better.

I thought I was old school. Seems like everyone has went thermal now.
Dogs are tough to call in here especially since this thermal craze started. It's fun to try even though success is rare. Too hard to keep many footholds going in the snow and our cable restraints are useless.

I use a Wicked Hunting Light. It is 3 in 1 so the lens can be red, green, or white. It came with a good picatinny rail to mount to the tube of a scope, quick detach mount, and you can add a pushbutton to the stock to turn on and off with your front gun hand. I don't use that button but it does come with. You can adjust the beam intensity. Comes with rechargeable batteries that last all night even in -20F weather. I really cant thing of anything I'd change. maybe a little bit lighter? but it is pretty durable so I'm not sure that would even be an improvement. I'd buy another in a heartbeat if this one ever disappeared or broke. You can also get a 4 in 1 with IR in case you ever go the night vision route. I'm not really sure how far you would be able to identify stuff to, but 300 sounds reasonable.
Edit: I have the A67iC, just for reference.

Too hard to keep many footholds going in the snow and our cable restraints are useless. I see the same thing in North Dakota. Everyone is going with a thermal but I am not convinced that it is the "End all be all of night hunting". Besides the steep initial cost and typically annoying battery life, the coyotes that I seem to chase are not as foolish as they used to be. Too many night hunters using thermal, they are just as smart as they are during the day. Same thing could be said about using a light, but I have $200 invested instead of $4000 and can harvest just as much fur it seems. Just my observation.

Thanks guys. I will check out all these lights.
Wytex I was looking at those orion lights last night. Those look really good for the price.
Slush that's an interesting observation. I thought thermal would be 10 times more effective than a light. Unfortunately everyone and their whole family seem to be night hunting with thermal and the dogs are well educated.
I'm definitely not dropping the coin on thermal. I only go out calling 5-10 times a year. Sometimes I get way back in the woods and call in the daytime. It's just a way to enjoy winter when it gets to be a hassle to run traps.
