In a cast iron Dutch oven
Cook 1/2 pound bacon
Remove bacon...and add carrots ..celery..onion and cook for 8 minutes
Add some garlic at the last minute
Can of crushed tomatos
Generous amount of Thyme... oregano..basil..1 Bay leaf...1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
Add chicken stock to cover everything
Add cup of rice
Put chopped up bacon back in
Heat up to a good simmah...then cover and cook for 45 minutes on low.
Check to make sure you have enough chicken stock in there. The rice will suck it up.
Check for bean doneness.
When beans are done...add the juice of 1/2 a lemon and stir and serve.
Of course ...cheese could be added to your bowl

Not sure on the bread what do you use to bake it in, im sure some kind of cast? Never tried to make bread before.. Bake it in an Enameled Cast Iron Dutch oven. Snowy just came ovah to the dark side of Sourdough. He made his own staahtah....and baked his first loaf the other day. Nevah too late to staaht
