I've carried a Leatherman Wave for MANY years. As others have said, I would feel naked without it. On my belt 7 days a week.

I've always carried a small pocket knife....few years back it was used to cut a seat belt at an accident scene to remove the unconcious driver...truck erupted inflames about a minute later!

Just a pocket knife? Kabar eskabar in the left pocket. Ontario rat 1a in the right. Camillus cuda CQB tucked in just behind my gerber and flashlight. In this holster.

I carry a pocket knife but find the tiny tools on a multi-tool too small and hard to unfold with big fingers. This. I carry a knife, but I dislike all those half-azzed tools.

Except for basic training, and Jury Duty, I've carried a folding knife man and boy since I was a Cub Scout in the first grade in '55. Till 9-11 that is.

I have carried a gerber multitool for quite a few years. I have broken 2 of them when I worked in a small welding shop emailed Gerber and told them that I broke it not their tools fault and they have sent me a replacement each time with a note thank you for your business J

I carry a Spiderco knock off the moment I put my pants on and have a Leatherman Surge in the center console. It cannot do anything aa well as the right tool for the job can do, but it saves me a lot of walking because if I am going more than about 10 ft from the truck I can clip it on a belt in the summer or stow it in a jacket pocket once it cools down.
Its heavy. I have always heard that a roll of quarters in the fist can knock several teeth down a mans craw and that little thing is heavy so if I was ever confronted by multiple attackers they might need to make payments at the oral surgeon's office once I finished with them.

I carry a pocket knife but find the tiny tools on a multi-tool too small and hard to unfold with big fingers. This is why I prefer the gerber over all the rest. The pliers come out the front on a slide with just a flick of the wrist. Often just pulling them out of the holster is enough. The pliers being the most used tool. I rarely use the knife blade and truthfully it's more of a scribe for me using it to scribe metal or other abuses I won't use my other blades for. The scissors are my next most used cutting all sorts of screening and light gauge metal. Another thing I like is you can disassemble them by just popping a c-clip to knock out the pivot pin to swap in tools you might want. The Leatherman is a nice one being tighter but requires flipping or twisting and often two hands.
