What are some tips to keep cows out of my traps. Have 150 acres of cattle pasture on our property and kept getting traps sprung by cow. And yes it was cows because I could see tracks all the way up to it. TIA

Don't let the cattle see you, especially if you carry your gear in a bucket.
Common sense is a not a vegetable that does well in everyone's garden.

If you are certain that is the place to be, since this is your place, cordon off a corner or small piece of it with a temporary single strand electric fence. One high enough for coyotes to walk under but cows can't. About the highest clip on a step in electric fence post out to do it.
Can't say about cows, but deer seem to be as attracted to the call lure used on a coyote set as the coyotes are. Maybe cows are too?
One other consideration.......if you actually catch a coyote in a pasture that has cows in it, and cows can see the coyote, all bets are off. With some cows, there is no telling what they are going to go thru to get at it.

I was told that if you make your set Inside of a truck tire you won't have worry about cows. Not sure how a coyotes will react to that type of set. But I have tried It and have caught coons. I didn't set Inside the tire I set the trap about 3" from the edge of the tire and placed the bait Inside the tire. I would assume that placing a tire In cow pasture would attract cows but I don't think they would step on your trap. And I used the tire as a drag.

Auctally just learned that my dad is moving the cows up to the front pasture between our house and the road. So I will have the back 150 acres all to myself.

They just either kicked the trap or kicked the tire over the trap
